Our Lady of Peace Parish is planning a 10 day inclusive tour of England, Scotland, and Wales on June 17-26, 2017. Feeling the vibrant energy of England, hearing the unique sounds of Scotland, and seeing the rolling countryside of Wales, we will journey on a beautiful trip that combines the exploration of dramatic history and natural wonders. The tour begins in London where we will have a welcome dinner at a traditional English pub. We will travel to the Tower of London, Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abby, Buckingham Palace and the changing of the guard, venture to mystical Stonehenge, the Globe Theater and Shakespeare’s birthplace as well as enjoy a private dinner at Hall’s Croft, a 400-year-old Shakespeare family home. Boarding a train at Lond’s King’s Cross we will journey to medieval York. We will visit Costwolds, thatched roof cottages where Paul McCartney has a home, and Stratford-UponAvon. In Scotland we see Hadrian’s Wall which once marked the border of the Roman Empire. Then to Edinburgh and Edinburgh Castle. You also might want to visit St. Andrews where golf was born. We visit Grasmere, home of the poet William Wadsworth then stay in the beautiful Ruthin Castle in Wales. Optional tour extension to Dublin, Ireland will also be offered.
